today I have photos of my recent gel polish nail design to show you.
To make these sparkly blue nails I used:
– on the middle finger nail – EzFlow TruGel Magic & Mischief. It’s really lovely pastel blue. If you want to see my other post with swatches of this gel polish click HERE,
– on the ring finger nail I dabbed two coats of transparent blue glitter. Usually to cover a whole nail with a glitter I apply three thin coats of glitter mixed with a top coat. Here I used only two and it doesn’t look as good as three coats,
– on my thumb nail, index finger nail and pinkie I am wearing LeChat Perfect Match MOOD – Skies The Limit.
Skies The Limit is a thermo gel polish which reacts to temperature. I am totally in love with this polish. It applies like a dream. It is completely opaque with two thin coats without streaks. Depending on the temperature it changes colour from light turquoise when it’s warm to a prussian blue (I was searching for how to call this colour and I think that would be right name for it, but I am not sure) sort of colour when it’s cold.
I had a huge problem taking a good photos of this gel polish during the colour transition because it’s changing so fast. My hands were all the time cold so catching the darker shade was easy, but then I was trying to keep the hands in warmth so the polish would change to turquoise. As soon as I was going out to make a photos in a decent daylight the colour was changing back. I don’t know how girls which swatch this kind of polishes make so beautiful swatches while colour is transitioning My just didn’t want to show up like I wanted and when I wanted but as soon as I packed my camera back I had beautiful two toned nails ready for a snapshots.
Ok, so here is the photo of Skies The Limit when it is cold.
Here is the photo when Skies The Limit is warm with a cold nail tips.
To add some finishing touches to this mani on the index finger nail over the Skies The Limit I added blue holographic stars and two shades of blue glitter. It shines AND changes colour
Today I have photos of my Green Rockstar Toenails with Nail Foil to show you.
To make this pedicure I used Soak Off Gel Polish, a loose Green Glitter and Silver Nail Art Foil.
After nail preparation and the base coat I applied three thin coats of gel polish top coat mixed with glitter. I cured each coat and sealed the nail surface with the gel polish top coat to get the smooth base for applying the foil. After curing the top coat I waited a bit and than applied foil on the inhibition layer. If I do it straight after curing the foil doesn’t want to transfer. As a final step I sealed the design with the gel polish top coat.
Unfortunately my super ultra mega shiny toenails are super ultra mega shiny only in strong light. If the light is dimmed the nail foil looks just like regular kitchen tin foil added over glitter. Still I like the effect.
today I have a photos of my summer style gel polish manicure and pedicure.
For this design I used IBD Just Gel Polish – Retro Rosette and silver holographic glitter.
Retro Rosette is a really stunning colour. It is a beautiful creme fuchsia. It gives good coverage with two coats, but here I painted three coats as I usually do. In a sunshine it has a neon undertone which makes it very vibrant, but when the light is dimmed Retro Rosette becomes more like darker magenta.
I did not have any problems with application of Retro Rosette. It did not shrink or pool on the cuticles.
On an accent nail I added silver holographic glitter. After curing a base coat I painted the nail with a thin coat of gel polish top coat and added small amount of glitter with a clean gel brush. After curing this coat I repeated glitter application twice so finally I had three coats of glitter which gave good coverage. The glitter is sealed with two coats of gel top coat.
On my thumbs I painted shiny lines using glitter mixed with a gel polish top coat.
On my feet I made similar design as on my fingernails. I also added small silver stars on a big toenails.
I do not usually have a matching mani and pedi but I like it a lot so I think from now I will do this more often.
Thank you for coming
